Comparatives

When to use it?

To show change or make comparisons:

§ I’m feeling better now.

To compare one thing with another:

§ She is five years older than me.

To describe something or someone changes:

§ Smartphones are getting more and more expensive.

We use the with comparative adjectives to show that one thing depends on another:

§ The faster he drives, the more dangerous it is. (When he drives faster, it is more dangerous).


Superlatives

A superlative adjective express the highest degree of a quality. Could be one thing or a group of things.

§ Everest is the highest mountain in the world.
